Making Homeownership More Affordable
Pag-IBIG Fund has introduced a special 4.5 percent interest rate on home loans worth up to ₱1.8 million, designed to make homeownership more accessible for Filipino families. This limited-time offer specifically targets first-time homebuyers and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Who Can Avail of the Promo
- Locally employed members earning less than ₱47,856 monthly in Metro Manila or less than ₱34,686 monthly outside NCR.
- OFWs, regardless of income, are eligible.
- The offer is limited to the first 10,000 locally employed applicants and first 1,000 OFW applicants.
Big Savings for Filipino Families
Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta highlighted the significant savings under this program. For a ₱1.8 million loan payable over 30 years, the monthly amortization at the promo rate is only ₱9,120.34, compared to ₱11,082.91 at the regular 6.25% rate.
This means members can save nearly ₱2,000 monthly or around ₱71,000 over the first three years.
Why It Matters
According to Acosta, “This program makes even non-socialized housing more affordable and responds to the needs of Filipino families who prefer house-and-lot units that offer more space, privacy and long-term value.”
The program reflects Pag-IBIG’s continued efforts to support members with affordable financing options. Just last month, the agency also offered residents of its foreclosed properties a 10 percent discount to help them secure homeownership.
